Yara Flor of the Amazon tribe is the new Wonder Woman, who, in the absence of Princess Diana, emerged from obscurity from the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil to protect the world of men from the magic within it.
Yara Flor is a demigod who hails not from the island of Themyscira, but from the Amazon rainforest in South America. She has a faithful winged steed, Jerry, and along with her friend Caipora, a ranger spirit, Yara journeys to the underworld to rescue one of her Themyscira sisters from the clutches of Hades, the Olympian god of the dead, a sister she has never met before.
Yara is also an active member of the Justice League. Although the League's new rules prohibited fraternization among its members as a way to protect them individually and avoid the same tragedy that led to the dissolution of the previous League, Wonder Woman and Superman (Jon Kent) became friends. It's also worth noting that Yara, while always willing to cooperate with her League colleagues, isn't exactly thrilled about being part of it.
