The Gorn were a warp-capable, bipedal reptilian species. Their interstellar government was known as the Gorn Hegemony.
Gorn were a cold-blooded species, with green, rubbery skin, red blood, and an average height of about two meters. They were often many times stronger than most humanoids, though slower and less agile, but possessed greater endurance and, like most cold-blooded species, preferred warmer temperatures. The Gorn had at least two sexes: male and female. Despite being reptilian, female Gorn possessed what resembled mammary glands, typically found on mammals. Gorn could survive exposure to the vacuum of space.
Some humans instinctively disliked the Gorn, believing them to be a kind of reptile, and considered them primitive or unintelligent. This was unwise, as the Gorn were at least as intelligent as humans.
